10 days drying and counting.. the buds are dry from the outside, so definitely still inside. And the stems don’t have that snap yet. How many more days til snap do you think?
drying environment not stable.. wanna have some precautions so from the guys who have been experienced enough to keep on doing this, then the estimated more days til fully dry is valuable knowledge for me

looks good! now you dont want any air blowing directly on the buds but you do want the air moving a bit. I would keep a small fan just to move air and prevent any mold from forming. if theyre moist for too long they can develop mold, especially big honker colas
My bro SHB I had something to say for everyone with Jim and I’s conversation in this post. What I mostly wanted to say is there if you can check it out.
given the fluctuating drying environment, you're looking at around 5 to 10 more days for your buds to fully dry and get that satisfying snap if you ask me... offcourse keep an eye on the humidity and airflow etc like sub said as you dont want to give mold a chance.
It is a situational kind of matter to deal with what you only have. You learn a lot. You pay more attention. You basically use your head. But I don’t want to keep on running cycles on coming up short when dialling down the environment. I am excited to move forward. Thanks Jim for taking the time. I’m pretty sure ya know Jesse’s story.
But… I live in a tropical country. Two seasons only. Averaging 75%-90% humidity. Temps nothing crazy as well. Doesn’t get insanely hot nor cold. But to run top flower you’ll need an a/c. I didn’t have a humidifier, dehu, and even an exhaust fan. A/c, fan, lights. A fair space of 4.5’x4.5’x7’. It didn’t explode like a proper vegging plant during veg. Veg lights only 6x24w CFL. Didn’t use a/c during veg. So dealt with hotter temps and high humidity. Lastly it was vegged for 5 long mos. It had the size as a result during 12/12. Big enough to not crowd my space at least. But everything improves dramatically during bloom. 250w hps and an a/c. Was able to keep temps controlled during bloom. But as a/c cool mode goes in its cycle to rest, the RH increases. So it stayed in a range. Cool mode and rest mode. It would just go up and down for the RH, temps may vary but is still within acceptable temp for bloom. Cool mode or rest. It is obvious that it is quite humid where I am. For example, during this dry period, cool mode would get me to 60-60. But rest mode, temps acceptable, but RH changes so fast. Again, pretty obviously humid. So I want to deal with the RH next time first. How do I set it up? Can I prioritize one equipment first and the exhaust fan as a priority? I’ll opt for a 6” exhaust fan. AC Infinity if I have the budget. But if you feel there’s a much more efficient exhaust fan I’ll look into it.
so, lengthy context, hope ya didn’t get bored. Two questions.
1. an exhaust fan will do a lot for my grow. So options for exhaust fan. Sold with AC Inf. For me, visually produces results. Never owned one, so only convinced with the results from others I’ve seen while using it. Also very good presentations. Online catalogs, social media marketing pages/links. Having decent appeal overall. Bonus for me is the product designs and build (visually). But if a more efficient product is present, tried and true, have the longevity as being able to provide for horticulture. Choosing AC also has drawbacks.
2. Best capacity for liters in a dehu and humidifier. 4.5’x4.5’x7’ grow space
Bonus inquiry: Better to have all equipment ‘communicate’ with one another, aka automation. Sure way to get your environment dialled without guesswork. Uhm, fundamental info when it comes to equipment automation?
I hope you shed some more light on me Jim and the others too. All your experiences I listen to. Respect the grower. And the long timers here, didn’t say OLD, take note. I wanna gain so much of what I can know from everyone, to be aware and use it with my own journey as well.
Wish Jess could share this smoke with you all. But not to worry, to the ones who can read this comment, I’m asking you intervene in a simple way. Take a puff of however you smoke and in a way, pray for me after. Pray I make it through, that Jess is up to handle with whatever is infront of him. There’s more to life than just growing weed, and the friendships I’ve also made here, makes me want to ask a sincere gesture. I’ll be sure to hope for everyone to be safe at all times with their lives too.
it’s a journey what I’ve come to respond to you Jim. Just in the zone to write. This grow, during those final days to harvest, made me feel at one with the galaxies. Loved that moment. I used to get seedlings to only last a few mediocre days, to this bounce back run. I wrote all this because I feel accomplished. You have your own work with pride, as it is for me. So as all things might come to an end, I’ll continue to get better, but a reality is also a dimming flame. Might dial everything down continuously, still have the same love for growing, but this moment to come from failure and go through and get over them, this feeling and moment can never be as exact as it a time made me feel. So I am riding this behemoth of a wave, til it someday reaches calm shore.
peace! ☮️ ✌️
awesome Cola! what strain is it?
This is a Nirvana Lemon OG Haze. But with a twist. Found someone who sold fems and I thought these were extra beans from Nirvana themselves. Basically used colloidal silver for it.
Of course some stranger comes doubt. If it was truly fems, truly a Nirvana strain. Up to now we’ll never know if that’s the truth and why should we care? It has a nice cola as you’ve said.
But can anyone familiar with Lemon OG haze verify if traits are also there? I was a bit bummed of density over some buds. But it’s a haze.
I mean yeah lol obviously fem. But it was lotta random with only trusting as the policy applicable. This one I truly and insanely got lucky with 🍀
Hey Jesse, hard to say how long drying will take not knowing how much of which is fluctuating. I also live in a very wet and hot climate and my space is basically a 5x15 room and I occupy one end so I also fight dryer heat. You are right on the fresh air and being able to control your environment is so important, I am still trying to improve my air flow especially with new light. Here is what I have.
5000 BTU window mount a/c - This a/c never shuts off like most when temp is reached it is a dial and constantly blows cold air in room.
Dehumidifier 30 pint
3 fans
4" fan from carbon canistor and cut a 4" hole in access door to outside this pulls in fresh air but with the humidity its useless without my dehumidifier
Even with all this I am realizing I still need cooler temps so the plan is to buy a 8000 BTU portable a/c and just hook it to the 4" hose pumping in fresh air this way the other a/c will constantly be pushing in fresh air the new a/c will keep temps where I need them. I have full control of the environment this is why I also use the grow room as my drying room I usually dry at 70 degrees and 55% RH for 10-14 day this harvet got the snap at day 10.
I’ve copied this into the log book! Hulk is dailed in!!
