How long should a taproot be before you plant it?

ive never seen a two inch taproot! at that point they should already be in their medium/plug/rockwool

i say less than an inch

As soon as the tap root pops out of the seed it is ready to go into the medium, you can even germinate them in the medium as well.

There are multiple ways to do that, the only thing you cant leave to chance it wearing your lucky socks from the time you drop the seed until it pops

I soak my seed overnight and as soon as the shell cracks I put it in a coco plug so my taproot is usually less than an 8th inch.

Try to bury them in sand first king

i transplant mine after 60 hours germinating between two cotton pads, when they look like this:

lottsa good answers here...IMO anything between 1/4 inch to 3/4 inch er so...if tap root gets to long it can grow into the fabric of the paper towel and break when tryna remove it to plant..done that once er twice, long ago.. GL
