Dispensary nuggets

When I see weed purchased from a dispensary the nuggets are almost unbelievable dense. What are these growers doing to get that tight of bud development. I am happy with what I grow and quality wise I am totally satisfied with my results but I am amazed at what I see from dispensary weed. Thanks for all answers in advance!

    • I am going to say , Commercial equipment and maintaining a close to perfect environment. I just can't afford to do it lol

      • That is a good point but I think some of the guys here keep an almost perfect environment. I have seen some great nuggets here  but the ones I see from dispensaries don't look natural in my opinion.

      • I can't say I like dispensary weed anymore. guy traded me a few grams for some equipment and the stuff was toxic. Sure hope he grows better stuff because this was like crumbly rocks, tasted terrible, by comparison to even my grungiest grow.

they are forcing the grows in some cases feeding them all sorts of shit. newbies are the ones getting shafted by dispensaries, well poorly serviced anyhow.

        • I completely agree with you. I have had some people give me several different strains from dispensaries and I wasn't a fan. I might be biased but I think my weed is better in every category. I have read that some people are using pgh (which is not approved for human consumption ) to get denser buds but I would think dispensaries would not sell something grown with hormones.

        • No doubt genetics and environment play a role in it but I think lights have made the biggest difference for me.  When I switched from LED's to HID a couple of years ago there was a noticeable difference in bud density and then 2 grows ago I switched back to a higher end LED's my buds are like rocks now. I changed the way I cure to and that may be part of it, I cure in buckets with an air pump on a timer and keep them in the buckets changing the air/burping once a day for a month or more.

I also think since commercial growers grow in such a large volume they can be picky about what goes out as flower and what goes out as a pre-roll or edibles. Personally I have not smoked anything from a dispensary that impressed me.

                • I have never been to a dispensary but when people come to visit they always bring us some but I agree with you about the quality. I personally think I grow better quality than what the dispensary is selling. Mine just isn't quite as dense.

                • Dispensary weed has to look, smell,  and taste amazing to give the public what they want. You have to realize that we have a whole new class of smokers these days. I've smoked some nice ddispensary weed but it never has the legs of homegrown. It's grown as fast as possible and the high ends pretty fast too.

                  • I hadn't smoked dispensary weed until recently and you are completely right, it doesn't have the legs like homegrown. That's probably the perfect description.

                  • I agree with CPW on the lights and round the clock attention they get. Plus with the quantity of plants they grow they turn the fluffy bugs into extracts and edibles so it’s like taking all the tips of the colas and bagging them.

                    • Here, only CBD is available in shop, i buy a little once per month and both taste, density, and compactness is great. Even slightly better than mine half of the time depending strains .

My weed don't benefit from optimal drying conditions a bit too hot most of the time.

I always try to keep some CBD to smoke right after harvest, it contribute dissipating back pain :).
