It's the trichomes you wish to look at. When they are cloudy with a few amber trichomes they are done. The pistils don't tell you when it's done but in combination with the trichomes it can. When the trich don't turn for some reason then the overall condition needs to be looked at, and then pistil condition should be the guide.

I sent White Widow to bloom on 3/20/23. Flowering time given as 8 - 10 weeks. But now the plants are ready after 6 weeks, because 2/3 of the hair is brown at the top!!?? (disambiguation)

Hello Mr. Oldman, as D mentioned the hairs are good to tell you when to start looking at the tricomes. The hairs are very different between strains, some will finish white while others only turn orange or blood red. I like to see a little amber on the calyx before I harvest. This is good news now you can let them bulk up and although I have not grown yet seems like it has big colas when finished.
