Jack Herer-1 Month into flower.
Had her stripped bare on July 19th. She bounced back nicely. But I'm wondering if the point is to expose the bud sites to more light and the plant grows back the leaves anyways, do you guys think it's a waste of plant energy, cause the energy it takes to replace the defoliated leaves, would the buds have gotten bigger? I got 3 of this plants clones ready to flip to flower, I will leave one without Schwazzing and just some selective defoliation and see if the buds look the same at the same time intervals as schwazzed one's. Happy growing.

After thinking about it, plants don't produce new leaves after about 4 weeks of flowering so I don't think any energy is wasted as the buds mature.

Thanx for that info Tex, I'm gonna take off a couple of the big fans up top, would be nice if they stayed off.

I dont think they make new leaves after a point but the hidden ones from the 2nd Schwazzing trim develop into monsters.

Plants have a natural instinct to make more leaves than they need to build up the stores as a safety for lean times. I think the trick is to figure out how much to defol so the plant thinks it has enough food in stores and focuses on Flowers
If you think about it that's what us humans do, we eat just enough to survive,
