Thinning out or trimming

How much should I be trimming off of these? Ive been taking the large leaves off as they mature but should I be thinning them out even more? The vegitation is really thick.

    • The way I usually do it is I will take the ones touching the dirt and do as much tucking as possible really if I take any leaves early in veg its couple here couple there 2 to 3 weeks before flip then major defoliation after the stretch is over

      • The way I do it is taking a couple almost every day. If a leaf cannot be bent or moved to get direct light it comes off. If you have a part of the plant that is super thick thin it out so that every leaf is in the light. Imo, you should thin that plant up a touch.

        • youve got alot of plants under the net. so in my opinion what you want the SCRoG for is to spread out the plants and take up as much horizontal space as you can! with 9 or 10 plants it wont take long and you will certainly need to get in to maintain each plant. i dont mean to burst your bubble but youve got alot of really great plants going already and i feel this will restrict your access to them. either way its gonna be one hell of a ride!

          • LOL! No bursting here...Its my first tme out of the gate on any serious indoor growing and went straight for the throut on doing a SCROG lol. I knew there was gonna be some hicups and I am learning a lot! That is 10 autos under there. I am thinking that 8 wouild be a better number next time around, and that wouild work with most banks selling seeds in counts of 4 it seems. but yea, its starting to keep me very busy. I actually got set back in growth a bit due to nutients burn from being to dry and under watering, Otherwise, I might have had an absolute jungle on my hands lol

            • this will make you a better grower! its the price of an education. And youre gonna pay the price, but a calm sea does not make a skilled sailor so this will be a learning lesson for us all!!

              Peace

            • remove all leaves below your net - let them veg longer (up to 2 mo's)  your cog looks very goos ,, molre time needed - but  you can start to "weave" the tops into  the net  also you can have more tha one "branch/top in your square netting Scroging take time when done properly that why I perfer LST method

              • Thanks for the info! I am finding that it does take time and actually some stradegy too as it continues to fill in more. I'll have to look up lst method as I am new to indoor growing

              • How far is the net above the pots? I think 8 inches is the min distance recommended for a SCROG and a little close for me except on the Ebb & Flow table because its off the ground. I would cut all the leafs in the dirt and start tucking and weaving. Or you could line them up and flux them all.

                • I'm a lot lower than 8* on the screen. more like 4*. Do you go 8* on an auto SCROG or fems?
