OD Grow '22 complete today. Is contest still open?

:) The '22 OD Season (for me) is over!

Six Nirvana homemade crosses:

2x Raspberry Cough x Blue Dream

2x Papaya x Raspberry Cough

2x Papaya x GSC

Stared from seed indoors 3rd week of May. In ground May 28. Hillside, organic, wild-patch stealth grow. Dug holes and trenchs. Back-filled with 15-20 gallons or so of homemade organic mix. Top dressed once late in veg and three times through flower.  Four were planted in one rough line and then two apart from the others. The four together were spaced about two to three feet apart but would turn out to be way too close together. Was expecting one or two would be male plants and eventually culled.  Just my female luck, four for four female! So those ended up a bit crowded. Asise from the one apart in the foreground, there is another up and to the right, just out of the picture.

Began cutting the faster maturing ones by 2nd week in Oct. Late season warm spell here (US climate zone 6) so left the slowest one ripen a few more days, finished today Oct. 26.

Problems included fighting off the jungle like surrounding vines and undergrowth, lots of bugs, small pockets of powdery mildew and bud rot during a clammy mid-late September, an actual slippery slope of tricky footing and a couple big storms and strong winds that took out a couple low branches.  All in all, though, they were healthy plants from the beginning and all the way through. Apparently healthy plants can take a lot!

Will be a while still drying, curing but early samples of the fastest ripening plant, one of the Papaya/GSC are promising. The cut buds have an aroma like a freshly opened bottle of concord grape juice with maybe a hint of salami, they are very dense and sticky, the smoke is strong... sweet and a little spicy . No buzz like a super fresh, straight off the drying rack, buzz!

      • It looks like you had a plant count of 6 mature.  Do you top or cage? If your legal keep all that other folage out of the picture it helps with air flow and the mold and mildew. You should grow those things in to giant beasts if you have a plant count😝

          • Did you breed those crosses and was it crossing fems or a male and a fem? Doesnt really matter but we would love a smoke report. Looks like you can use those stalks for firewood soone

              • Thanks Jim!

No Bluemm, I didn't top or train or even defoliate anything that wasn't about to drop off anyway, I'm a pretty lazy farmer :)

CPW way back when some people bought regs to save a little money. One of those was me :) Would get a pack of regs along with some feminized seeds. Back then Nirvana sold the regs in packs of ten. Figured I'd roll the dice, being a cheapskate, and if / when I got a male I might try gathering some pollen and making a few seeds. Had 10 packs of Raspberry Cough, Papaya and AI regs. So the Papaya / RC is regs on regs but the others were pollen from a regular dusted on just a couple lower buds on  feminized Blue Dream and the GSC. Haven't had any Ive grown out hermi on me... yet> Yeah thanks have to find some use for those stalks :)
