how can i prevent the plant stem from being woody?
I was wondering how could i prevent the plant stem from being too wood-like and not easy to work with, is it to much nitrogen? or maybe the fan? i like when the stem is flexible and easy to work with and I'm having a hard time this time

You will get a more flexible stem from sativas but really I mean they almost all turn like that at certain age, younger it is the easier it is to work with. I would start lst as sprouts.

Are you feeding it any Silica? That will make them woody as hell.

Imo, different strains have different characteristics as far as how woody the stems are. I love Maui Waui but I have a hell of a time training it under my net. California Orange on the other hand is fantastic to Scrog. I feed both the same nutrients and treat them exactly the same so I think it is just a variation of the strains.

i agree! California Orange Bud is an excellent choice under a net. The first time i grew 5 of them (no scrog) from seed and they all grew fast and stretched from beginning to end, had a ton of 'inter-nodal spacing' and stayed long and lanky! This Jock Horror SCRoG has fought me pretty hard all the way! when i was spreading branches i split the damn thing at the 'Y' because it was so woody

I think there is a definite sweet spot during the grow that the plant is flexible. After that its set up to carry weight, and hard to train.
