From what I have seen from the SF2000 I think that is the best idea.

i avoided spider farmer and hid just for that reason , heat source plus being semi-unattended = recipe for disaster.

I got 1. When things are produced on a large scale, even when they aren't things happen. Thanks for the heads up but I am not worried. thats 1 person and 1 light. look @ the responses as well. Rollitup is on my list of websites I prefer not to go to. Lots of back and forth there. You notice that when you read the responses. But like I said thanks for the heads up.

Just an update my sf 4000 has been hanging since January 25, 2021 and no problems and def. no fire! All I did was hang it no fans blowing on it or nothing extra cooling methods. Sometimes I forget about old posts that may need updating. This is my update on the 4th grow with it and I think I can say I'm pretty happy with the purchase. A noticeable decrease in power and for sure heat. No noticeable decrease in yield or quality.

Good post, thanks. That is another reason I think the LEDs on bars are the future of LED's.

more spreadout/diffused the lighting = less heat concentration .

It keeps the light more balanced across the canopy. Light projects out from a single bulb in a conical shape, like water from a shower head, so where to 2 conics cross the light is more intense so the outer conics with no bulb next to them are the weakest light intensity, so it makes sense to spread them out and that big air gap has to help cool them. I have never understood why they put the LED's on one cluster, but there is a lot about light I dont understand.
Thanks again for the tip on the Growcraft lights.
