If the substrate is dry, aerate first ( poke holes) and water to run off, with epsom at 1/2 teaspoon per gal. every three weeks. Mix with a small amount of warm water if possible. Weed loves ES/ magnesium sulfate, real important mineral, but don't over do it ! You can top dress epsom too. If you TD it, use about 1/2 teaspoon per pot. GL
I agree with Chubby441 its especially good for hydro, I think soil has some mag in it but in hydro if you dont add it the plants dont get it. I top dress in coco coir and mix it in for water grows.
@ Hulkster Epsom salt is not actually salt. Don't let the 'salt' in its name deceive you. Epsom salt is, in fact, a mineral found in water containing magnesium and sulfate at high levels. Peace
Hulkster ES is not Recharge at all. Recharge has mycos, molasses, kelp, and some other stuff too. I do like Recharge though, I use it when I transplant.

What is the salt doing? Fromwhat I can remember is help break down the sugars not converted? Is this the same as using recharge?
