I keep telling the wife I wanna do that to our lawn.

it's a beatiful yard 

not sure if you're familiar with a plant called "stork's beak" ? there are few yards entirely made of "stork's beak". stuff dries up when there's no water and comes back when there is. So it's kind of deceiving in the fall the yards are basically dirt with some weed looking crap on top, but come springtime holy shit it's green and lush. some mow it, other continue to water. but it's a weed so left alone it will populate the yard.

and still with limited rain people still grow lawns here.

I love nature yards! This is ours 

Thats sweet D, looks better than the average green grass yard and a lot better for nature.
