Does the plant stretch in the dark time? or in the light time?
I have a theory that the plant gathers the energy during light time and then it uses it to stretch in the dark time, am i right?

so i should give my plants the recommended ppfd so they have enough energy to stretch in the 12 hours of dark time

I believe they stretch at night (dark cycle) while they store energy during the light cycle.

Not sure but this is my experience:
after a Hurricane came through and we were without power for 5 days the stretch was insane when the power was out....

I notice Seedlings seem to stretch the most during the dark period. It would probably be easy to rig a camera to take a picture twice a day to find out.

My opinion is they stretch all the time, but I also know plants stretch in order to get as close to the light source as possible.

LMFAO! When I first started growing I would measure them when the lights came on and right before they shut off! I know, I'm a loser lol! But it was interesting to see the growth differences.
