PH
Good health to all! What kind of pH do you prefer when growing in coco coir? And does it matter what difference it makes if you add beneficial bacteria like mycorrhizae, etc.?

Bacteria and fungi can handle a wide range of ph. My blueberry bushes outside had mushrooms growing in the pots and the ph of that soil is close to 5.
only when the ph is either highly alkaline or acidic, is when it hurts the beneficials.

Bleach is 14, which is why its commonly used as a cleaning agent, same with vinegar but it has a ph of around 2.8.

I keep it around 6.0 and the healthier the roots the less the PH matters but why ignore it and wait for a problem. As long as you feed them and keep them at a good temperature I dont think bacteria and/or mycorrhizae give a damn what the PH is.

When I first started growing in coco I had the same problems with a ton of conflicting information. It took me a few grows to dial it in. I target 6.0, I don't sweat it if I am around 5.8 but I really don't like going over 6.0. I switched over to coco loco and doing the same thing with the ph and it is working well.

one thing to remember is if you use tap water, the shitty adds chlorine to kill most bacteria. kinda like with swimming pools
