Flowering

Please help. On my third grow and I can't get the big buds. I have popcorn buds and I can't get anything bigger. I use down to earth nutrients. There 444 and 484, worm castings and compost tea. What do I need to add and what am I doing wrong?

          • There are a lot of things that go into the rock hard buds that people post pictures of. First off what strains are you growing? Genetics have a lot to do with the quality of buds you get. Autoflowers tend to have less dense buds so that might be an issue. Finally, the lights you are using and how far away from the plants can significantly effect bud density. I suggest going to growweedeasy.com and doing some research on growing and I bet you will be posting some rock hard nuggets in no time!

            • I was wondering that about Autos. That was one of my complaints last grow.

The lights were 6 inches from the plants during flower and are now two feet from the plants now in flower

                • Autos in my humble opinion produce high leaf to flower ratio which is bad to begin with but genetics as mentioned have a lot to do with it. Good lighting is important too but feeding is key!

In the beginning work on your roots, feed microbes from start to finish and use a good bloom enhancer during flower from begining to end.

Im not about auto flowers so I would recommend a photoperiod grow for more solid buds

                    • I started off feeding them worm castings, mycorrhizae, and down to earth 444 in the soil from seedling up until flower. I did low stress training and got a full canopy for the tent.  I then switched to worm castings  and 444 and 484 for flowering watering on and off with a compost tea made Wholesome Sweeteners Organic Molasses and FoxFarm Big Bloom Liquid Concentrate. I only water with Poland springs distilled water. I started off with small started cups then moved to 2 gallon fabric pots to 5 gallon fabric pots. Not sure what else to say hopefully you guys can give me some pointers with this info. Ph also have a tamp of 77f and humidity for 40 to 45.

                    • A prob with organic feeding is availability of nutes. If I were you, I would add a synthetic nute to go along with the organics. Every third time you fertilize use a synthetic fert at half rate. GL

                        • that's the problem right there! you are using blurple lights! I did 2 runs with those and a mars hydro full spectrum and trust me you would NOT believe the difference! finish your run and switch your lights. Mars hydro and Spider farmer are very good for the price, just make sure what ever light you chose that they have the soft white, bright white, infra red, and bloom red. From your pictures everything else looks good.
