My new bulb showed up today.

So I pulled the trigger and bought the Eye Hortilux super hps and it showed up today. After doing some research on the best bulb to use from start to finish and it came down to the Ushio Hilux and the Eye Hortilux. In the end I flipped a coin and picked the EH. Of course I picked the more expensive one! 🤔Anyway  I just put it in and checked the ppdf. With the Vivosun I had the light set at 500 ish. With the new bulb it jumped to 623 at the same height. I never checked the Vivosun when it was new so not a real apple to apple comparison. It does however show I really did need a new bulb.😳

 Shout out to CPW for the heads up about the  Photone app. Its available for Android in Beta if anyone wants to check it out.

    • Those are the ones I use and I like them a lot. I use their MH bulbs in Veg to keep the height down though. Glad the Phoneone is working for you. I got the tip from Justme.

      • Nice! I think I may break-out  the old hid light next grow myself! You'll have great results with your super HPS bulb!

          • hid are great but they do cost a lot more to run than a good quality led. i also have 2 1000 watt hid lights sitting on the shelf for back up lights.

            • I'm lucky I live were electricity is reasonable. I don't really need to worry about AC or a dehumidifier so that to helps with overall cost. 

              That being said, I am not opposed to LED! I see what can be done with the new tech coming out today and I'm sure it's only a matter of time for me to make the switch. 

              I do have a ebay blurple led I use for seedlings!
