Ppm/EC
help a fella out narrow down to where I’m having issues as to why my grows wouldn’t take off after the first week. So I got a tds meter. I’ve noticed my water reads 26ppm. I add pH up and down to adjust, re tested my water, now it shoots up to 400+ ppm. Could that also be why my grows do not seem to take off?
I prepare a cup of water around 250ml. I add drops of up and down. - this factor hasn’t changed with the recent ones I have tried

sorry to hear your struggling there! have u ever tried a grow without doing anything except watering and sum nutes....what happened to cause you to start throwing stuff at ur plants to get em to go better? GL

What is the pH when your reading is 26 ppm ? I measure a lot more from the tap.

PPM is how much stuff is in a solution. PH tells you how acidic or alkaline the solution is. So it depends what you put in the water whether it is acidic or alkaline to what your ph will be. Just personally I think I would do a lot of reaserch on ppm,EC,PH.Seedlings don't need a lot of nutes. They barely can drink with its small root structure so this is why you run the humidity high during this stage cause the little girl will use the moisture in the air to drink as well. Just remember when a human baby is born he or she is not eating a full course meal just some milk until he or she can grow to be able to eat and process a full meal.

I just use RO water as it is now, and when I measured the RO water it wasnt exactly zero but close enough. There are some nutes in the soil for now I understand so I just give them the RO water for now.
I did some minor experiments on trying to reduce my pH 8 tap water to 5-6 or so by using chemicals and it didnt quite work out. The pH dropped but would go back up the next day, the ppms would increase by a lot... I found it to not be a good solution for plants. Better to start with zero and work from there in my opinion.

Get some General Hydrophonics or similar PH Up and PH Down. You have a pretty good science project going without playing chemist too. If I had it all to do over I would follow what ChAs420 said. With any experiment you need a base line at the start and then add things one at a time In your next grows.
Remember weed grew for 1000s of years without any human help.

I know its not cheap but if you add up what you spent already why not break down and buy a small bag of FFHF abd a big bad of FFOF then all you need to do is PH the water you give them food in soil will take you right up to flower... Just a suggestion.
