Help with Tents

So I will be making a change after this run.  Looking to get two tents one for veg and one for bloom but the split tents seem small on the veg side.  Really wanting something that is 50/50 split in a tent but haven't found one to fit the bill.  So my thoughts are going to two tents or one bigger tent with a homemade divider.  Anyone have any tips on what might be better and what size tents work well for each phase.  I have a 4x8x 78" tent now and could grow the width and length a bit.

    • I work with 2 2x4 tents one flower one veg and a 2 2x2 nursery/ clone box. I fill the tent way too easily but it's all the space i have or need really.

      • I had an extra 4x8 tent with no frame so I built a frame out of 2x4's and 1x2's . The cool thing about building a frame with wood is it's much more sturdy, you can attach stuff to the frame easier (panda plastic can easily be used to partition off a section), and it only cost around $30 to build. Tip... if you do build a frame to fit a tent, make sure you build it 1" smaller than the dimensions of the tent. so a frame for a 4x8 tent would measure 47"x 95", This way the tent fits easily over the frame.

        • Nice, especially the less expensive tents. they are weak in the frame, if you want to hang anything heavy forget it.

          nice job, very crafty, sir.

        • I'm pretty handy, built houses from the ground up in my early work career, then moved on to vehicles of about all kinds, but will be going the 2x4 route in our next house.  Then it is on like Donkey Kong!!!!

Love seeing what everyone has come up with to make it work.  Thank you for the responses!

          • i have a 4x4 and a 5x5. Vivosun. theyre decent for the price. no plastic fittings. pockets. heavy zippers, clear screen for viewing and ducting inlets and outlets.

If you have a half decent mechanical aptitude, then by al means build a little grow room/tent to your specs. Being clever and creative goes a long way once you start to grow

          • Just found a pair of 4x4 at my local store.  People in there are so nice, makes it easy to buy from them vs the internet.  Oh Yeah!!  Already looking forward to next run!

            • It depends on what you grow in and what you want to do. If you grow in hydro you probably wont use a 50/50 time line for veg & flower, 8+ weeks in flower is pretty common but 8 weeks in veg will probably over fill a tent. You can stagger the grows in the different tents too, nothing says they have to be assigned permanently as flower or veg.

              • Absolutely what I was thinking.  Also wanted the ability to grow one for fun or as a test subject vs quantity.  Should be fun.  Just got back from picking them up.

                • I have a 2 X 2 X 4 tent for making & starting seeds, a 2 X 4 X 7 I usually grow 2 plants and take clones from for the grow room with the RDWC and Ebb & Flow.
