Getting things ready.....New house...Water Q’s 🤯

Hey everyone!. New here myself, long time cannabis & green thumb lover tho.
Recently purchased my first home and can finally smash a grow... done how I’d like...comfortable...with decent $ behind it to make it go smoothly/productive as possible.

Past grows I learned loads...made mistakes, cared/listened to my girls & always came out +.
However, Iv been awaiting this time....read a lot while waiting...& I plan on making these 20 Feminized Super Skunk seeds from ILGMJ that came yesterday come close to the 20-28OZ per 3x3 they are capable of.
I’ll get into fully detailed equipment later on as I’m still compiling....but... planning to have a few moms in soil OR coco most likely to make that portion easy. Clones in 24site Aero cloner I purchased. However.....ima flower in DWC/RDWC for the first time *FULLY*...planning Humbolts A+B...Sterile Res....

 THE KICKER........MY QUESTION....

My east coast tap water is rough.... 375-440ppm/7.6-8 PH...🤮😨🤬🤬🤬

I do have the city’s vague specs if it’ll help someone... my thoughts here is do I even try to cut that crap in half with R/O(bringing PpM 150-200) leaving out cal/mag obviously...then *icking with unknown nute percentages still in water.... or just purchase this R/O system for $200 and have pure “square one” if you will water to roll through this with....🤔.
Annnny and all opinions, questions, ect R appreciated!!...Hope this finds you all well & happy growing good peeps!! ✌️🌱😎

    • I hear ya Mr. N. I have similar water here in Missouri. Very alkaline, 400ppm's mostly bicarbonates Ca and Mg. Diluting your water with RO or rain water will make your irrigation management for weed much easier. You will still probably need to adjust the PH with an acid to bring it down to where you want it, but you will use much less PH down. That's a good thing ! I remember when I bought my first house, what a relief it was to finally not have to worry about a frickin landlord ! He,he,he Sounds like you have a good plan. Welcome to WP...lots of good growers on here, to help you out !!!

      • Chubby....appreciate the words man. Yea you know how it goes it sounds haha.
Think r/o system is definitely gunna make doin what is needed in a bubbler system....simpler(if you will). I’ll definitely keep that ph floating around within accepted range...watch them like a hawk & keep em happy as possible lol. 😂 Yeaa the freedom a home brings is amazing...thanks again & appreciate the response!! Chat soon✌️

      • if you know you have poor quality city water definitely use RO or distilled. Depends. Your city adds all kinds of shit to the tap water, and thats not even a conspiracy theory! I used to use tap water in all my DWC but not long ago my city had a mandatory water boil... my plants told me this before the city did!

        • What kinds of sign did you see on your plants right before the mandatory water boil?  We just had the same circumstances here with a mandatory water boil 5 days ago.

          • the leaf on two plats drooped noticably. when i checked my pH it was way off. i mixed another batch of nutrients but the pH wouldnt fall into place like it normally does. i suspected my nutrients and even bought new bottles A and B. that didnt change anything so i switched to RO water. distilled is just as good. zero nutrients.

            • Welcome to the Portal brother! Being in the south we have 300, 400 ppm tap water. I don't try to fight it, running all DWC I stay on top of everything daily, especially watching pH and water temps.

              • what is your ppm after u add your nutes ??? that would b the # 1 thing on my mind let your water set 4 at least 24 hours to let the chlorine and fluoride evaporate then jive it  a go .....  welcome 2 the wp ....

                • Sorry good people been busy. Appreciate the warm welcomes and opinions/experiences. Means & says a lot 👌
So I’m gunna do a few tests on a gallon of 24hr evap, see what’s actually in my water just for knowledge. Still not gunna give it to the pup ever haha🐾🐕. Ultimately game plan is ima crack a few SUPER SKUNK seeds next week...roll with 5-7gal grow bags...fox farm soil, micros, kelp & teas till cloning can begin on mother’s. Pulling certain nutes correctly before cutting.... Quick 12/12 to determine things, then...

                  Clones in Veg
                  5gal/XXgal REZ—RDWC—General Hydroponics grow, micro(hard water) and bloom ...a silica product & hydroguard.....or H202 still studying. Might add...might not.

                  FLOWER——
5gal/Rez is prob a TOTE XX Gal?—RDWC— something different for nutes, concoction from all my reading OR I’ll decide down the line haha not 💯 yet on this but it’ll be solid.

Mother’s will get LED Flouros closer to flower **
