Automatic Watering System questions
So I'm going down the wormhole for auto watering systems, and would like to go with a wifi system to monitor while away for short trips.
Worried about having the liquid nutes clog up any intake filters or pumps that are designed for only water.
Could anyone share what they have done to streamline this for me?

you can get a ph and feed doser to help with the swings of them. but you have to set up a water line to the system to self fill res depending on how long your going to be gone. and how big your res is. but put a float valve in your res for a safety shutoff to the water.you can buy the float shut offs at most grow shops. good luck

The blue labs PH dosiers are over $400 these days. I am glad I bought mine for the RDWC and it was a stretch for me @ under $300. Its totally worth it but you have to have the $ first. I did finally have to replace my sensor but they are down to $45 now from $90 when I bought it.
It makes 0 sense to me why component prices will go down and assemblies would go up

I use a DIY setup, a tote, pump, timer, emitters and a manifold. I had some problems with buildup when I was using emitters so I switched to the circular water rings with 1/2 tubing and they work great.

The most I would be gone for is 5 days so maybe a feed and a water is what I was thinking about having the capacity for.
Really appreciate the help!!

the sky is the limit. just depends on what you want to put into it and how much $ you want to spend on it. good luck
