Sea of green....
I am 54 years old and have been smoking since I was 16, but just finallly decided to get serious with my own grow setup...Yea, I know...better late than never lol. It was suggestted to me to grow my autos in the "Sea of Green" fasion. I am about a month into their growth and have begun to gentley train them horizontally. I thiink I'm doing ok but it just doesn't feel natural to me. I feel like I'm slowing them down by making them work in a non-natural manor. What is the advice of you experienced growers out there???? Vertical or Horizontal/Sea of Green?

Welcome to the portal! I didn't know you could do a sea of green with an auto? I don't have any experience with SOG but I thought it had a lot to do with cutting and cloning. Could you possibly be looking to do a Scrog?

Didn't want to crap on the parade but my thinking is the same as TB don't hear a lot about doing scruggs with autos because you have to cut a lot and train a lot in the past we've only heard negative stuff about Autos but I got one going now and I'll post a pic here shortly if I could do it over instead of growing seven I would do 15 autos and 3 gallon pots and probably get a better yield

r u saying the plant knows that it's growing side waz or straight up ??? interesting but this is my thought if all the bud sites keep them flat canopy so they all get as much light as they can usually that will equal a better yield but u have awful flowers all bets r off love 2 c pictures please ........ 2 cents

So your 5 miles out to sea, jumped ship and now you want to learn to swim. I love it, I do everything that way. LOL. Your kind of committed now so I would stay the course to the end, autos dont mind the training at all and the few I have grown I topped them before I saw any pistils and that seemed to push out the flowering period to start at about 5 weeks so I had bigger plants. Since they are autos you can carve that into a sandy beach at low tide. For now go to Growweedeasy.com and read everything twice. Normally I think most growers that do a SOG use clones, one seed =100 + plants as apposed to 1 seed =$25 and hopefully one plant. Plus with clones you know more or less your plants are going to grow alike, autos are like a box of chocolates.
