    • Not sure 9 watts is gonna give you the results you're looking for.

25-40 watts  (depending on the quality of the light) per sq ft is recommended, for LEDs.

      • Ok, I agree of course, it is too weak. This 7 watts LED is in addition to my already exisitng T5/CFL lights which draws 100 watt. In a few weeks I plan to get going my 400w MH but I lack some cooling yet.

        • If you've got a light, then I just gotta ask...

Why? Why spend the money on a light that doesn't suit your needs/ doesn't improve your grow?

Not tryin to be a dick, just askin.

          • I bought these ebay lights to try out in the living room for my regular plants. I tried running a 400w one winter but I found it to be a bit much in the end.

I will probably get going with the 400w MH later today, cooling or not. I have this feeling it will be a bit much for this tent (80 cm X 80cm), but I will give it a try.

          • Welcome Newb, do you have a budget to work with on this growing project? Want to help but I’m not sure where to start. Your most expensive and important purchase will be your light. Not saying you have to spend $1000 but a sufficient light will run you $200-250 the ballast in your house cannot support the wattage needed to grow your plant. I would research full spectrum lights I have a 2000 watt bestva cost $200 draws 300 watts at the wall something simple but effective. This is where I would start. Good luck 👍

            • Thanks for the advise, all good points! I have a bunch of 400w "old style" equipment but in the end I decided to buy a brand new LED lamp Lumatek. Should be here on Monday.

            • PayPal and Amazon have a pay in 4 offer so you can spread out the costs across 8 weeks or more with no interest. Your significant other will probably notice $200 coming out of the account but maybe not $25 every 2 weeks.

              • You must not've seen his last post. He ordered a Lumatek 200 watter.

Good name. Should be plenty of light for 1 plant.

                • I did miss that, and yes it should be good for one plant, does anyone actually grow one plant though, lol.
