is it safe??? safe for what? you just take a sample of your water and test it. then throw out the sample. not one drop of that should be in your nutrient reservoir. thats why they give you the test vial
i use pH test indicator drops from General Hydroponics when i test my pH and theyre 100% accurate as long as youre not color blind

If you have any question or concern, dont put the feed mix you test back in the reservoir or pour it on the plant.

guilty on color blind also. i use the bluelab pen and the bluelab guardian in my res. love them
