Same strain Day 39 (veg 3 flo 3) with the hps
85 cm with the hps day 39 (veg3 flo 3)
37 cm with the led day 39 (veg 4 flo 2)
I do much prefer the plant structure in veg with the HPS than with the LED , next grow i might do the veg and 2 to 3 first flowering weeks with the HPS and switch to LED to finish flowering like i did with the Satin Black Domina CBD, loved the results doing so.

Like your idea if you can control the heat they do have great node spacing time to stack on the grams. Great job..

yeah, this should be oki like that, i never had heat issue with the HPS until the last 4 to 5 flowering weeks so this should be oki to veg with the HPS but may be in summer if it's too hot.

hps gets hot in the summer. one of the reasons I think the plants like them. sun is warm and led are not, this could be the reason the plants always seem happier under hps. but as you know the studies show no difference or little difference in the whole of things being plant growth. this doesn't mean they are happiest under the led just not as happy as they seem under a HPS lamp. I would run the HPS system but cost is through the roof in our area and actually isn't affordable. But I am very happy with my current led lights and the plants they produce.
But yeah I think everyone can agree to the comfortable of the glow of HPS vs LED, it's nice and friendly. LED seems bright and cold. The broad spectrum doesn't always equate with happy growth, it just grows not knowing the difference.
