clip on fans

i have had several of the oscillating fan fail on me because bad design and shorts the wires out at the swivel part.i had two go down this week alone and caused mold on a couple big top colas. any one on here have a brand that lasts longer than one grow?

    • That is frustrating as hell isn't it. I have an 10 year old 19" Hurricane that still works great and I have had 4 in the last 3 years that didnt last a year. I think someone bought the company and fired all the quality people

      • i have the active air ones and it rubs through the wires and shorts out and blows the fuse in the plug in par.i have a hurricane just haven't got it figured out how to mount it in the tents.it use to mount on the wall before i had to go to tents.grand kids put a end to the open grow.lol but I've ive been through six this year alone.the last one i just got from amazon it only lasted for a hour and start stinking the house up like the motor was burning up.

        • I bought a Lasko clip on fan in 2015 that is running strong, I bout 2 more a year later and they didnt last a week. 

          Same with Hurricane, I have a old one that has run for years, When I wanted more I ordered the same model and eventually I got tired of returning the Hurricane fans because they stop oscillating so now I run 3 fixed position fans

          • i just purchased the ne ac infinity clip on fan from my local shop. Hopefully they  are as good as the filter fans.

            I was at a friends house the other day, and she had a oscillating fan on a stand, that would be perfect for a grow room or tent. I picked it up and it was kinda heavy, and the air movement it created was strong. Definitely not a cheapie fan, but she said she only paid 30-40 dollars for it. I'll get back to everyone on the manufacture and cost. Clip fans are usually cheap and only last a couple years.

            • I usually use 12 inch oscillating fans then I get at Dollar General the brand is Penguin yeah pretty nice being 12 inch and now let's see 1500 cubic feet a minute they cost about$20 give me a Dollar General or job lot just saying they work good and they're cheap they get about three years

              • The best little fans I have came from Lowes and I think they are Penguin, they dont oscillate but they were $9 each and they have run for years.
