1St time DWC

So been growing in dirt for about 10 years and decided to try DWC. I am doing Master Kush from Nirvana,  which I have grown several times before with success.

 

So I have 6 Mk.

5 gallon DWC.

Lights are a combo of 3-300watt and 2-600watt with them 3 feet above just through the seedling faze.

Nuts are AN Coinsurer A/B at 1/2 strength.

I also have been using Fox farms Micro Brew, which stinks to high hell. So bad I ordered another to see if it was the same.

18/6 light cycle.

Water temp 70-76far. PH 6.0

Air temp 75-80far.

 

So the problem is my lower leaves have got like chlorosis, have dried up and curled up. I first noticed a splotchy, discolored spots on lowers and has gotten worse and lowers are pretty dry and dead. Not sure what to think.

 

1. Potassium deficiency:

I started out with using 1/4 of A/B and raised when noticed this, plants haven't stopped, but haven't really progressed. So not sure if this has fixed completely.

 

2. Overwatering: I know its DWC, but could I need more O2. I have a 20watt 6 port air compressor(715GPH) 45 liters a minute. Should be fine but not sure. It is the one that came with system.

      • So my PH with the pen is 6.3 to 6.5, I have door dash delivering the PH up/down in a hour.

        I also noticed that I believe my water levels were way to high. I have them in a rock wool 6" cube, but I had the whole thing summered in water. It wasn't getting any o2 from stone at all, till the roots dropped down far enough out of cube. You can see how high the water is and no bubbles at all. The others are the hardest hit MK plant, roots look good was going to get rid of but I will put back and see if it helps for a day or so.

        I have dropped down water levels, will rehanged water on all today and drop my PH down .7, to 5.9 or 5.8, got them in the dark now, will start changing water today when PH stuff is here and I know how much to use.

        • good deal! glad you got your problem solved!! now that your gross overfill has bee corrected, DWC growing should be alot less stressful. I use Advanced Nutrients for all my grows and rarely see a problem. It happens, but its usually operator error

          • Do you need to use any PH up/down with your AN products?

            • i havent bought a bottle of pH up or down in over a year. If i ever need to check it i use pH drops. Like i said if something goes way off, i just replace with fresh nutrients

            • I have trouble keeping water temps below 75. Cant afford a chiller.

              • Yea me too, but I'm not chilling in current system. I took smallest, mostly dead plant down. Other 5 are doing well with just the water level change and fresh nuts. I will monitor closely, but hopefully I won't need the ph down regularly.
