I bet if you ask every member on here you will get a slightly different answer on how to germinate. Lately I have been soaking the seeds overnight in PH'd water with a few drops of H202 and generally I see them crack open in 24 hours, from there they can go in rockwool, rapid rooters or strait into the media, if its coco coir or soil.

Before you go any further I suggest you go here and read, read, read and then read again. They have a tutorial on germination and just about everything else.

2 things I have found that can lead to disaster are putting rockwool into soil or putting rapid rooters into rockwool. Rockwool seems to work best on its own or surrounded by a dry media like Hydroton and rapid rooters in rockwool just hold to much water.

      • I use jiffy plugs. Soakem, drop seeds in, keep warm and moist. Bada Bing, bada boom.

        • I use the 42 mm ones. They are a little taller. More room for the tap root and they work great for clones.

          • I drop mine in distilled water for 24 hours (push them under the water to make sure the seed coat is wetted well). Then I put them in a damp paper towel until the root emerges. After that I put them in the little two inch pressed cardboard planting cups with fox farms soil mixed with perlite(I think its two inches .... about the size of a dixie cup). Once the seedling is up and the seed coat has been removed I plant this cup in my 10" netpot full of hydroton clay pellets which is in my hydroponics setup already. Then just its grow grow grow!!!
