should i trim this bush?

so this is my week 10 peyote cookies and its so bushy its crazy, i was wondering if its a good idea to trim off some of the fan leafs, im planning to push them to another 5 weeks of veg and then switch to flower or even more, im gonna do a scrog net later and i might raise this one higher . i tried raising the lights abit but no stretch.

        • I would try to clear the underside for air and hope that the flip will stretch it out. but definite bad things happen in dense moist undergrowth.

          • what do u suggest for it to stretch instead of making mass new growth?

          • That's what she said !! he,he,he Is it an auto ? Maybe trim some lower leaves, but you could wait till the stretch .

              • You can try turning down the photons that will stretch it too. Dim the light down a little and see if it starts to stretch. If thats what your looking for. Otherwise when you flip to flower it will stretch a bit or a lot, genetics.

                • In my experience when I have my ppfd too high, that is how my plant will grow. Until I lower the ppfd to an optimal level.

                  • Yep, I have learned that the hard way, I had my Green Crack at about 550 PPFD and it looks like that.

                  • I think Rick nailed that as for why and what I did is dial the the light down to 300 PPFD, for a week or 2 then I did a lite defol hoping the extra leaves would make it stretch more after the flip. It did not but this weekend it will be in the 20-22 days after the flip and I will trim it back to a near Schwazzing level and see what happens. I will post some before and after pictures and I will post more as it grows.

At the end of the day, ask your self, does the plant look like you want it to? If not make it look like you want it too

                    • My personal opinion is that I would start trying the branches out and down. That will probably deepen your light penetration and help add secondary growth. If there are any fan leaves that are not getting direct light at that point I would take them off. Just my thoughts. Pretty plant!
