The problem with mosquito dunks/ bits is, you have to keep the soil wet to keep it effective.
Wet soil is an optimum environment for breeding.
You're better off with an insecticide that lists "Soil Drench" as a type of application.

True but not a problem with coco. I had a knat problem outside my front door and put some in a cup of water and they would stay away unless I let them dry out but I think you guys are referring to a different kind of knat
