Interesting question, will they need less water with less leaves or do they need the extra leaves to draw water from? As soon as you trim they generally start making new growth so will they need more water for the new growth then would to just keep the old growth going. Hmmm. I dont think it will matter much and either way they will be fine but I would consider doing 50/50 just to see what happens.

Hearing responses you might be right as far as 50/50 I definitely did not consider the fact that once trimmed they will look to draw moisture from somewhere to support new growth. Thanks CPW

Yes fewer leafs means less water is needed, I’ve learned this first hand from growing in small pots.
A leafy girl will dry the cup up fast, compared to a strain with a high bud to leaf ratio.
