Instead of topping
Anyone ever do this? not a terrible way to control an unruly top.
Anyway this technique for this situation is perfect. The rough nature of the process it gets a piece of tape for reinforcement usually after, for now it's been removed.

yeah i do this sometimez..when i do it i also use some the wire ties to hold the limb down..it will raise back up if ya dont hold it down..GL

i have done it u should have tied it down let the booboo get a little better then go up but let the tie stay on .....

I have never tried it. Do you get the same side growth as if you have topped? Most of us like to top more than once, curious to know if you do it one time or multiple? Same limb if multiple?

I top and super crop if needed, there is always one branch that wants to tower the others and that's the way I solve the problem.
