A Vote for Old School Genetics
I was researching "sun grown" weed today and found this.... We have an industry that's been here where folks have been [around for a while]. Some of the farms we work with are third- or fourth-generation cultivators, and they have incredibly unique genetics and practices. So, when I had the experience of getting up and visiting these farms, I was like, 'Wow, this cannabis is so much, frankly, better and more unique than anything I have seen in the marketplace.' So, it was trying to create and bring that to life in a store ! This dudes company in Cali, " Solful Cannabis Dispensary" sells only "sun grown" weed, with some strains that are from 30-40 year old genetics . It's easy to say that back in the 70's and 80's weed was better, but I agree. There's MANY reasons for the decline in quality over the years, but if I had to use one word to describe what happened to these old school strains it would be "purity!" Nobody paid attention to it. Yeah, we now have some really good genetics, but the balance and "purity" aren't there. I guess a good analogy to this is a 1962 Corvette compared to a new one !! Peace

Most was bred for color & yield which hurt the quality as well.

Back in the 80's breeders from Europe came to KY to pick up new genetics because they had cloned the immunity out of the "old school" strains and in KY they got that inbreeding shit down to a science so they still had some of the genetics from the original landrace strains.

I was thinking the complete opposite. The reason being over the years the THC has increased and because of the popularity and legalization of it more studies have been done plus communication from then to now much better so sorta thinking we are writing our own history with this but never forgetting to respect the OG’s
