Germination
Need Help.... I'm having a hard time germinating AK48 Auto Flower. Out of 6 seeds only 1 germinated. All the years I've been buying from Nirvana I've only had 3 seeds not germinate until now. Also I've been doing it the same way for years. I have a small plastic container and I fold a couple of paper towels into it, put the seeds in and soak the paper towel with water.
Any suggestions?

Welcome to the portal Bagman! You stated that you have been growing for 15 years so I don't think the problem is on your end, I would definitely open up a support ticket with Nirvana and see what they will do. They are really good about taking care of customers issues in my opinion.

Yeah it's weird. They changed the main website and it is really hard to navigate. I actually sent them an email because I couldn't find the portal site. Try the email at the bottom of the main page. Walter got right back with me and helped me out.

Your technique is good. Bad seeds can occur periodically for various reasons. Nirvana should replace them.

yeah that always sux when ya cant get em to pop! i use the paper towel method myself..i take a section of paper towel and fold it up a couple times so it fits in a samich bag and i MOISTEN the paper towel..not Soaked..i take the sink fauct and make just a lil trickle of water come out and go back an forth on the paper towel till its moist.. not wet enuff to squeeze water out....then i open up the paper towel and put the seeds in one of the folds and close it back and put in samich bag..put in warm dark place....dont keep openin up the bag to see if they popped yet...u can hold it up to a bright light an see when the tails pop out..if ya keep opening up the bag it can dry out and germs can get inside and the water will make the paper towel turn kinda yellow around the seeds..thats not good...others will chime in with diff methods..GL

I have more luck just soaking the soil/medium and drop the seed in, two to four days they pop. Just my 2 cents

Put a small amount slow release tomato fertilizer in the soil/ medium, mix it up then soak. Before dropping seed in. These are just 4 week from seed in soil.

Hello ITGreg... What brand of slow release tomato fertilizer did you use? I would like to try this.
