Clones - Epigenetics
I was gunna use a couple clones as the female plant in a breeding project, so I did some research on the genetic drift of clones after time. Pretty interesting stuff, and I learned a new word "epigenetics." https://www.leafly.com/news/science-tech/does-cloning-ruin-cannabis-strains

To me Leafly is like the national enquire of weed but in this case I agree clones do degrade and change over generations, I got some clones from a local source and by the time I had cloned those the third time they were different from the originals. By the 3rd round they all had 3 finger leaves and the mother had 7. I think trying to become unique is just the nature of all living things and unique isnt always better

Just my opinion but I feel like if you make your mother from seed, whether fem or regular, you will be ok. Seedlings are individuals so I think it's best to choose the mother from 4 or 5 plants in order to get the best one.
