I ran cooltubes on my 1000 watt HPS's. When hooked to a 6 inch fan, I could put my hand on the glass while it was on.
However, since you already know you wanna end up with LEDs, I wouldn't spend the extra money.
That being said, I also wouldn't use a tent, and block off part of a room. That should help with the heat issue an enclosed tent will give you.
"2000 w" lol...you're ahead of the game already, knowing that what they name a light doesn't mean much as far as actual power draw. Gotta read the specs. That "2000 watt" light probably doesn't push more than 200-250 watts.

I was thinking of just using the frame for the tent mostly, keep the doors wide open but I have not yet decided. I just remember finding the tent kind of practical.
Ok, I think got you, use the 600w but not invest anymore in it. I guess it works fine if I just keep it a little further away from the plant?
It is weeks if not months away anyway, still havent germinated the seeds yet, but I need to plan ahead since everything I need will be shipped by mail.

Ok, I can certainly believe that
I had a quick look at a reflector with cooling tube and if I am to add a fan and some ventialtion, it is starting to add up. I might as well buy a LED light then, possibly.
Or perhaps just use the 400w I already did ok with , without cooling.
I also dont know if a 600w HPS can outperform a "2000 w" (low cost) LED. I assume it does but I am not sure.
