Comment to 'Tell me what to look for in a Rosin Press'
  • You have some good advice but it really depends on how much you want to spend and how much you actually use it. More pressure will get a better product because you won't have to use as much heat. Heat burns terpenes but it can increase yield. Some experience with your press will sort that out.

I would go for 3 or 4 tons for your own use. The heat will be there so the size of the plates is your next thing. 3x5 is nice but doesn't have to be that big. Yes, you want a puck maker for sure. Once you make your puck, the best thing is to cut into 3 or 4 pieces and just use plain parchment paper.

The one we have is a Dulytek automatic and I think it's 3 ton. I use it quite a bit and my buddy uses even more so I wish we had got a bigger one, lol.

    • Thanks, I ordered the one RbtAsq has so I will test it and if I like the results I will make a bigger one with hydraulics bells and whistles. You know it just hit me but I bet I could design one and have it built at work as a reform tool and then just tell them I didnt work so I scrapped it

      • Yeah that will work and yes, if had access to my old place of employment I would build a bad sob. I seen one the other day that is 4 tons and uses a bottle jack. I think the manual ones are more versatile and of course you can press more product with more pressure.

That 1 ton you're getting will do the trick.
