Aloe Vera as a cloning gel has come up also in my research. I have access to fresh Aloe Vera plants and will definitely try using fresh gel from just picked leaves.
I believe my clones are getting to wet because I do live in a hot and humid climate. Any suggestions on how to clone in this environment. I have backed off on watering which I hope will help. I do use a dome and keep the vents open. Dryness is likely not my particular problem.

Too wet can be a problem, I noticed that with my cloner running 24/7 they do root faster on the timer and rapid rooters do hold a lot of water. It may break down to an oxygen issue since you can clone in a glass of water and that's about as wet as it get

I think the reason there is so much conflicting info on cloning is because so many methods work,

i think if youre going to use a humidity dome, keep the vents sealed until the roots have popped out. then vent gradually in preparation for transplant
