Leaves are more for releasing water, not drawing it in. The stomata opening and closing regulates how much moisture the plant releases, depending on the climate.

I learned something new I knew the leaves transpire but I also thought the plant would and could draw moisture from growth because fan leaves are always looking wilted when pot was light which obviously means there thirsty. Thank you

Don't get me wrong...a wilted (dry) leaf will absorb moisture (foliar spray) through osmosis through the cell walls. But only to satisfy its own cells.
