When I here the word flushing I think of running at least a gallon of water per gallon of pot. This usually results in an excess of runoff to technically flush out remaining nutrients left. If this is true the plant will generally start to consume it's reserves quicker leaving the plant starving for two weeks or so. When stop feeding and only water my plant still have access to remaining nutrients in my soul and what the plant has in reserves which in my opinion makes for a much happier plant resulting in better end results. This is just my opinion though.
