Molasses

This is the first time I have used molasses been reading about the benefits and better to use Unsulfured…was wondering if you do use molasses how often and how much.  I poured some water from the gallon into a cup and used 1 tablespoon of molasses in cup so easier to mix than poured it back in gallon. Set ph to just under 6.5

        • Molasses feeds microbes. If you're growin organically it helps .Not so much with synthetics. 1 tablespoon a gal should be fine. Here's a little info on molasses use...Just wanting to hear everyone’s opinion on brix levels of cannabis flowers. We used to actively measure and monitor the sugar content of veggies as it was a direct link to flavor and sweetness of fruits/veggies. I've heard some talk about it for cannabis, but not sure if its a metric that its important to measure or try and increase. I've also heard that people add molasses to their feed schedule in hopes of making the flower sweeter. However, there is a slight misconception of what the molasses actually contributes. Yes, molasses is a sweetener with a high sugar content. But the crop does not increase in sugar content by assimilating the sugar provided by the molasses. But rather, it provides both potassium and phosporous which are important precursors in the synthesis of carbohydrates. For soil based growers, molasses can provide essential sugar as a food source for the soil microbes as well as provide amino acids and micronutrients, thus improving the overall health of the soil biome. Healthier soil = healthier plants = higher productivity.

            • A friend of mine swears by recharge. It does the job for sure but more of a use at flip and harvest time use thing from what he tells me once at flip to help break down salts and veg nutrients and at harvest to leach out the rest of nutrients during flush

              • Recharge kicks butt!!     I see the price has skyrocketed.  Glad I got mine awhile back….  Before the big inflation of prices.        I have used it at first transplant  , into the next size container.  Then if something didn’t look just perfect.  A little shot…   Would give another at final transplant into the ground.   And maybe one later for good measure.   lol.
It was here that a member from way back talked about it so highly.    Said it literally fixed sick plants overnight.
So this is the second season I have not planted.   Just don’t need stash.  Soon tho I will get moving again .
I decided on  3 large raised beds of OD veggies.    And I noticed this spring my cukes  and beans were showing a possible signs of calcium deficiency.   So ..of course I’m off to my tote of goodies and mix up a few gallons of recharge and a dose of calcium.   And they straighten right up.  …  I’m thankful I retained some good info from people that are still here and those that I have not heard from in ages.    Have a good weekend  Hulk.  Good to see your still growing …. 😮‍💨😮‍💨
