stretch

so as some of you guys already know , i have a problem with my plants stretching and I had a question, should I keep the light distance away as much as I can till the first 3 weeks of pre flower so I can stretch them as much as I can, or I give them the light intensity power needed?

    • Controlling the stretch can be challenging, it was especially challenging in the RDWC but this is what I do. Heavy defol the day of the flip, leaves seem to give then extra energy to stretch, strip the leaves and they focus more on making leaves than stretching.

I give them less N for the 1st 2 weeks, that cuts back on the energy to stretch and I start craning up on the PPFD at the flip. by week 3 I have the LEDs at 600 PPFD up from 2-300 at the flip. Seems like they are less likely to stretch if they dont need to reach for the light. Bud pinching seems to work also. I think its on Grow Weed Easy.

The most important thing to learn is Super Cropping just in case,

          • That is kind of a new problem, i have had it this time with the Green Crack I am growing. I think it has to do with the new LED's I am just not sure of the fix. I lowered my PPFD and it helped but they still haven't stretched much in flower.

On the other hand the Chocolate Haze I have under the same type of lite in the RDWC has had a real nice stretch to it.

                • In my humble opinion you do not have to fill that before you go to flower. If you did so the only way anything can grow is up! Two of those plants will fill that screen once they go to flower. The idea is to fill the screen with the flower stretch. If you're asking me what I would do, I would go to flower. You yourself has to have a basic understanding as to how to make them go in the direction you want. IMO
