If it is blocking light on a flower , It is gone . If you don't your flowers starving for light will not be of good quality anyway. The last grow I stripped her down and she grew some of the tightest flowers yet. experiment a little bit defoliate more on one than the other and see what your results are. 

Just my opinion I think the cfl is useless at this stage , but we all do things different. So take that with a grain of salt. lol
