"Nanners" happen on Hermies, not males.
Nanners are usually caused by stress. Sometimes genetics, but usually stress. They may, or may not, contain viable pollen.
How many are you finding, and can you find them, and pick them off?

It's nieghbors of the same strain on either side receiving the same treatment sure don't looked stressed and actually pretty darn happy with the exact same conditions.....Just an observation logged in my note book.
