Comment to 'Conflicting information about Clones. '
  • Cloning is easy peasy bruh ! BUT you must take a few things into consideration that are very critical for success.  Environment is probably the most important ! This includes temps (75-85), humidity 85 and up (you can get away with lower humidity and lower temps), some air circulation, and a veg photoperiod, I like 18/6 for clones. Prepping a clone can make or break you success rate. Lots of growers on WP are very successful when cloning, they all have their own proven ways. I use oasis 1.25 " cubes . Whatever media you choose make sure it drains well ! I also use a 1" layer of perlite under the oasis cubes. This provides even better drainage, and also provides a layer for the roots to grow in. I use a powdered rooting hormone, and sometimes I use KLR from Dynagrow that mixes in the water that you'll put the clones in, before sticking them in the rooting hormone and the oasis cubes. Try to take a clone with at least 3 sets of leaves, you will want to remove the bottom set of leaves to keep the bottom cleaned up and promote air flow,. I've used domes and I've used no dome at all, if you use a dome don't fall in love with it ! Take it off everyday for n hour or so. I always make a angled cut on my clones so they stick easier, and I also peel back 1/2" of outer skin at the bottom of the clone, this exposes the cambial layer (the layer of a plant that transports the nutes and water throughout the plant). BEFORE I dip it in the rooting hormone. MAKE SURE YOUR CONTAINER HAS DRAINAGE HOLES IN IT !! Water the piss out of the clones when you first take the cuttings and stick them in your media. I water every day with a wand (spray) pretty heavy for the first 3-4 days, then you can back off a little. Some growers feed clones some don't. I've done both.  Once you see that they've rooted you can transplant and feed. Give yourself 30 days for rooting, and always take more than you need . If you have a good environment, good drainage and don't letum dry out you'll be good to go ! Peace
