not really. my space is a constant temp even with a remote ballast the temp inside my 3x3 is easy 10- 15 degrees hotter with an LED. i couldn't do the old hps now if I wanted to, just way too hot. I might use an 1000 HPS if I had a 5x5 space, in tubes well vented. maybe, it does make nice flowers, but that's just nostalgia speaking, reality is the led lights do a good job now without all the heat.
