So I guess I  should be happy with the life I got out of them. Anything with Chinese bearings and brushes doesn't last forever. CPW to your comment I have had piss poor life out of multiple vivosun 8" carbon filters they didn't last two grows before my whole place smelled of dank.  I went with ac infinity and they are better quality. Oh well live and learn.
