Remember Dont Run With Sicissors? Dont trim in the dark either, and I have scars to prove it. lol now. 

I have tried it all, 24-48-72 hours of darkness, stem splitting, ice baths you name it. My advise is focus on the health of the roots and the leaves while its growing, once its chopped its dead so you have done all you can do for the high.
