  •  It may not matter much in Maine in the summer, but it does south of the Mason Dixon!!

I had to put my aero cloner on a short cycle timer during warmer months. If I run it 24/7, it warms up the water too much.

I run Hydroguard, and still get nervous if the cloner gets above 75.

    • My timer is a Century brand.  They run about $40 on Ebay.

I run 1.5 mins on, and 20 off. Been using it for a couple years now, if memory serves.

And YES, timing is a BIG deal, running a perpetual SOG. One bad batch of clones puts a hole in the middle of harvests.

I usually only schedule 2 wks in the cloner, and 2 more in veg. That gives me one cycle/ harvest per month. Extra time in the cloner leaves my veg area empty, and non productive.

      • Never thought about a timer, I have an extra one that came with my lights. I use a dome on my cloner. It's just a clear tote that fits perfect over my cloning tote. I have a 20w grow light that i put on the dome and it's on 24/7 when I'm cloning. It makes the clones grow the biggest sets of roots and the vegetation gets really thick. Within 7 day's, I'm potting clones.

        • @RbtAsq, I learned about the timing the hard way this grow, I am trying to keep things in sync with the rdwc and I blew it big time, lol. Oh well, this time I will SCROG the next time I will SOG and not do any testing on cloning. My plan was also 2 weeks in the cloner and 2 weeks veg also. that give the rdwc 4 weeks for the roots to hit water and 3 weeks to veg which is plenty.

The century timers are great but the ones from the company that bought them out, not so great.
