I hear ya Mr. N. I have similar water here in Missouri. Very alkaline, 400ppm's mostly bicarbonates Ca and Mg. Diluting your water with RO or rain water will make your irrigation management for weed much easier. You will still probably need to adjust the PH with an acid to bring it down to where you want it, but you will use much less PH down. That's a good thing ! I remember when I bought my first house, what a relief it was to finally not have to worry about a frickin landlord ! He,he,he Sounds like you have a good plan.
