I also tried the autopot system, I tried it several times, indoor and outdoors and in my opinion its just stupid. I spent more time unfucking the (too) small diameter hoses and the flotation inlet etc. And in the end the pots were just small, 4 litres perhaps. I even bought a "aquaponics kit", didnt work out for me. Far from being a time saver in my opinion.
