Nice canopy and I would defol it too. I like to see through the canopy at this stage and then when the stretch is done you should be able to see the pot below

  I use the latest Schwazing numbers but I don’t actually Schwaz. I do a heavy defol at the flip and 22 days after. It seems to work but I don’t understand why the timing works
